Homecoming
July 8, 2024, Monday.
Dear reader,
if you remember, there was a column in this town called Свободная Колонка. The forces beyond our control have made it so it no longer can be found, at least now. And if you do remember, you have been one of our readers already back then! Thank you. You made my work worth it. The Town of Mists is my home and I'm happy to be sharing it with all of you, lovely folks. It is a pity the old column is lost in time, but things change, our town changes, and so do we and so does the spirit of the Column. It isn't dead, just changed. If you noticed, the language it is in is now different, it feels different, more fluid, more free, my words flow easily from one to the other, i feel free to speak and communicate, it feels more natural, as I was raised with this language in my heart. I hope you like the change, and the language. We have other changes too. For one, i no longer have my personal computer, instead i am enjoying the luxury of laying in bed and typing out on my phone, unable to sleep. It may affect the style - i know for sure that the lingo swap also has done that, hopefully for the better.
There are significant changes in the town as well, as time affects all creatures and things. We no longer enjoy the variety of movies we did before, having to stick to some old flicks i personally have no patience for. Many have been enjoying the booming sports culture brought to us by the men in grey. I must say I am with you on that. Creatures from the fog love giving us townsfolk a ride when we need and they allow us to pay in stories and songs, which is a very nice exchange for both parties.
The weather today is promising to be in the middle 20s, just like your humble narrator here dreams she could be-- the pronouns are an another change. Clear blue skies with occasional clouds, as I reject the notion that clouds make the view of the sky worse, no to moderate wind and sweet, sweet smell of SPF 50 and above on your skin, I hope. UV rays don't negotiate!
The movie recommendation is Full Metal Jacket, because i haven't seen it in years and probably so do you.
